Creating your art or craft pieces is just the beginning. What comes next is the marketing, pricing, promotion and selling of your work, which is often the part that creative people find most challenging.
Where do you start? How do you find the best places to sell? How do you decide on your pricing? How do you actually approach retailers?
This series of five two hour sessions will help you take the first steps to successful sales and marketing of your work.
The workshops are delivered by Linsay Given Black, who has run the Art & Craft Collective gallery for over five years after a 25 year career in marketing and public relations.
The Monday sessions cover the following vital topic areas:

Also included in the cost of the series will be a three month advisory service after completing all of the workshops allowing participants to discuss ideas and opportunities with Linsay.
The sessions take place in Art & Craft Collective, 93 Causewayside, Edinburgh EH9 1QG weekly from Monday May 22nd until Monday June 19th between 1.30 and 3.30 pm. The cost for the series is £150.00, including documentation for each session.
The business workshops are run through our subsidiary Retail Creatively which was born out of my experience as Marketing Director of ICE Retail, a social enterprise set up in 2012 to provide a showcase for individual Scottish artists and crafters looking for a sales outlet in central Edinburgh. Since 2017 Retail Creatively has been a part of Art & Craft Collective Limited, a gallery and gift shop based on the Southside of Edinburgh. The range and quality of work presented to us and the clear requirement for help and advice we identified on routes to market and market readiness within our maker community led us to the concept of a matchmaking agency and consultancy to connect makers with the right retailer path for them. We believe that Retail Creatively is the only agency to offer these services in this market. Equally, as retailers we see the benefit of an organisation which understands retail and the challenges of sourcing a reliable and consistent supply of products to capture the interest of customers. So, Retail Creatively was born! Linsay brings over 30 years of public relations and marketing experience to Retail Creatively as well as two years as a Director of ICE Retail, promoting and expanding the business into new areas and over five years as Director of Art & Craft Collective.
